Lo, behold and marvel as I try and teach myself to digitally paint. Tssch. There are so many errors in this (particularly on the right; even the sketch for that guy was awful), but I figure it’s not bad for a first try. Plus my hand is killing me and I want to go play Dragon Age.
Anyway, some jötnar concept art for *sfaj. The jotnar are Loki’s people. Squidboy on the left is a void-caste jötunn, while the guy on the right is chaos-caste goði (hence the clothes; jötnar aren’t usually big on clothes due to their wide and unpredictable range of body shapes).

While most jötnar look male to humans, they’re actually all hermaphroditic. Humans perceive them as male because they don’t have human female sex characteristics (e.g. boobs) on account of the fact that they lay eggs and don’t suckle their young.
Mostly this was just an excuse to draw squidboy, and I’m pretty happy with the way he came out if nothing else.
