Still trying to get a decent concept for the Godbeast. The godbeast is Loki in his dreki form; which is essentially the elder stage of the jotun life-cycle. Loki deliberately doesn’t have his tattoo here (as opposed to the last pic where I just forgot it) since the tattoo is actually a magic ward that essentially keeps him in his “young adult” form.Loki used to think that Odin was the one who applied the tattoo to his back. Lately, however, he’s come to the realization that he probably did it to himself. He still has no idea why (Loki’s memory sucks, incidentally).Anyway, I think I’m reasonably happy with how this turned out. I decided to stop being Bad At Art for once and actually went and looked at some animal skeletons to sketch this (it’s sort of a combination of the front legs of a cat, the ribcage/spine of a dog, and my usual breed of lolatomy). I was trying to make him more stocky and barrel-chested, though I think maybe he’s a bit too barrel-chested now.Whatevs.Oh, and I also didn’t draw his wings in (as usual), and instead marked where I didn’t using the AWESOME CONCEPT ARTIST TECHNIQUE LOL of putting in a little placeholder crash-test symbol. The I figure people might not realise that’s what that was, so I wrote all over the image.True story.

Whatevs.

True story.
